"Behind everything, look for a woman." Perhaps that is why it all began.
In the late 19th century, entrepreneur Alžbeta Macherová welcomed her first distinguished guests to a newly opened mountain excursion restaurant and winery. She forever changed the character of the Harmónia resort. Guests began arriving not only from Modra or Pressburg, but also from distant Vienna and Pest-Buda. They cherished the memories and returned often — locals and foreign visitors alike.
For more than a hundred years, friendships were forged here, disputes settled, and loves sealed with the first dance of newlyweds. Fine wines, delicious food, and lively music were all part of the good mood. The Macher family built another structure on the estate — Vila Etelka — creating one compact whole.
After reconstruction, Vila Etelka now serves partly as a private residence while honouring the legacy of Alžbeta Macherová — hosting gatherings that truly matter.
